Neighborhood: Cottage Lake

Cottage Lake was voted the best place to live in 2018.  It is an area that draws you if you like being close to many of the east side Seattle cities (Woodinville, Duvall, Kirkland, Redmond and Bellevue) but love a rural setting. The lake is the center of our neighborhood but this is not your typical suburban area.  You will notice there are no side walks and street lights but people tend to walk and wave at each other. Located in beautiful Woodinville with over 100+ wine tasting rooms, distilleries and micro breweries. The most popular winery is Chateau St. Michelle that features weekend top band concerts in the park.  Another noticeable feature is a home’s landscaping, some prefer natural and some prefer a typical city lawn.  In the summer, children play outside freely and go back and forth from neighbor to neighbor.  On my street, we have a peacock that doesn’t belong to anyone.  His name is George.  He has to put up with some tough predatory animals like raccoons, possums, eagles, coyotes, cougars, bobcats and bears.  Several of us put out food for him to enjoy when he stops by for a visit.  The thing that stands out the most about Woodinville is that people are very friendly and helpful.  It is an enjoyable place to live.
